It's been a long long long day. I'm still feeling the effects of inventory, and right after I finish this post I'm going to go curl up with an "old friend": a book. I've always loved books, and I think my parents have a large part in that. Some of my favorite childhood memories revolve around books or stories.
I enjoy a wide range of genres and authors, but due to limited shelf space I'm restricted to what seems like a very small selection. I gravitate to older, hardbound copies of some favorite titles. The ones shown are, from left to right: Black Beauty (very dark spine), My Friend Flicka, Thunderhead, Green Grass of Wyoming, The Sorrel Stallion, Tomahawk, Hiawatha, and a collection of poems by Longfellow.
Black Beauty, which you really can't see in the photo, belonged to my great great grandfather and is over 100 years old. Hiawatha and the collection of Longfellow poems are also from his books. I never had the pleasure of meeting my great great grandfather, but I was privileged to know his son, my great grandfather. He was a horse lover as well, incidentally.
I made it! Week 1 is completed! Lets see how I do for the entire month ;)

The Sorrel Stallion is one of my favorites as well. Looks like a good collection. ^-^
